Valerie Canada Rose passed away peacefully at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Valerie was surrounded by her loving husband Eric and their three children, Kevin, Madison, and Weston.

For the last 32 months, Valerie has displayed tremendous courage and stamina by valiantly battling Stage IV Colon Cancer. Unfortunately, the cancer won the battle with her body, but not with her soul. She joined Jesus Christ in Heaven where she was greeted by her grandparents, parents, sister, brother, niece, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Valerie and Eric recently moved to Nashville in order to be closer to their son Kevin and the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She had some of the best doctors and nurses in the world, and her family was very appreciative that they gave her such wonderful care while she was in the hospital.

Prior to the Roses’ move to Nashville in early 2026, Valerie and Eric lived in Knoxville, Tennessee for 25 years, where they raised their children. Valerie spent many years as a stay-at-home mom, and during that time, she volunteered for the Farragut schools while her children were students. Later, Valerie was hired by the Knox County School System and worked as an assistant teacher for over 10 years at Farragut Primary.

Valerie was a wonderful person; not only was she a good wife, but an excellent mother, sister, and mentor to her friends. She was also very creative—a talented seamstress and crafter extraordinaire. Her house was beautiful and filled with her many projects and decorative touches. Every corner of her home was filled with her many woodworking, sewing, and other creative endeavors. Valerie was truly exceptional.

Besides her many projects, Valerie had a huge heart and was always known to help others. She spent many years volunteering for multiple projects with the Farragut schools, mostly working on the campus grounds. During the Pandemic, she sewed over 2,000 fabric masks and distributed them to family, friends, and strangers alike.

Valerie was loved by all and will truly be missed. It is still incomprehensible that she was taken from us so soon.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Eric Sinclair Rose; sons Kevin William Rose, and Weston Campbell Rose, as well as her daughter Madison Rose Powers (Dylan). In addition, she is survived by her sister, Christie Canada Pieper (Christopher), brother, Douglas Martin Canada (Lisa), and sister, Jeanette Ellen Canada (Joe). She also had an aunt, several cousins, nieces and nephews, and two great-nieces who loved her immensely.

Valerie was predeceased by her parents, William Fischer Canada, Millie Marsh Canada, her sister Judith Marie Canada, and her brother, Michael Fischer Canada.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Click Funeral Home in Farragut, TN, 11915 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37934. PH: 865 265-5011.
