Una Taylor Jordan, also known as Mom, Mama or GiGi passed away peacefully surrounded by love on Monday, October 2, 2023. She was 90 years old and a shining light for over 9 decades.
Born in Nashville, Tennessee on January 22, 1933, Una was a strong and faithful angel among us. She graduated from Hume Fogg High School and dedicated nearly 30 years to the State of Tennessee Employment Security.
A devoted wife for 27 years to Winford, she was a cherished mother to Jim Norman (Debra), Mark Norman (Georgette) and Trisha Felice (Sean). Too early in life Una became a widow and God gave her perhaps her most precious gift. Neil Jordan was the answer to prayers and Neil and Una became a loving couple for the next 31 years. Active, alive and forever holding hands, they became a shining example of total, true dedication and love.
Una and Neil became proud and loving grandparents to Jessie Norman, Candace Binkley (Matt), Andrew Norman, Spencer Jackson (Shelby), Jake Norman (Elizabeth), and Nicole Norman. As a Great Grandmother to 9 grandchildren, she was always open arms for a hug and then one more hug.
Una was a dedicated member of the Antioch Church of Christ community for 50 years. Always with a smile and hugs, she was a fixture in the church and loved her brothers and sisters in Christ.
Una inspired everyone with her patience, her kindness and her ability to listen and somehow make things better with her unique way of understanding. Her sense of humor and timing gave some insight to the intelligence within. A remarkable woman that will be long remembered.
A visitation will be held at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road on Sunday, October 8, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday morning, October 9, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. with Funeral service following at 12:00 Noon.
