Todd Cameron Ellis, 57, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his wife and children on July 23, 2025. Todd was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Todd was born on August 7, 1967, and grew up in Memphis, TN with his parents Jerry and Ann Ellis, and his two brothers, Conn and Sean. In 1987 he moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University. Upon graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Business, he stayed in Nashville to work at Brentwood Music, where he met the love of his life, Amie. He went on to work for Sony Music Publishing in 1994 holding various roles within licensing – most recently as Director of Licensing, handling licenses across podcasts, audio books, lyric reprints, karaoke, symphonic arrangements, and more.
Todd was a devoted husband to his wife, Amie. They were married on December 16, 1995, at Brentwood Baptist Church. Together, they were members of the BBC worship choir and led several small groups in the children’s ministry and youth group. He volunteered in vacation bible school, where he would sing, act, rap, and fully pour his all into teaching kids the gospel. Todd also enjoyed producing the services on Sunday mornings.
Todd loved Dunkin’ Donuts, iced coffee, Oreos, beef nachos from El Sombrero, the beach, movie soundtracks, baking, completing puzzles, maintaining his lawn, and running. He also loved all things musical theatre, superhero movies with his family, playing with his nieces and nephews, and doting on his granddaughters who very clearly had him wrapped around their little fingers.
Todd is survived by his wife, Amie; his children, Emily Ellis, Grace (Jarrod) Tracy, and Cameron Ellis; his bonus daughter Jess (Landon) Kidd and granddaughters Addie and Livie Grace; his parents, Jerry and Ann Ellis; his brothers Conn (Angela) Ellis, Sean (Lendon) Ellis; in-laws Tommi and David White; sisters-in-law Mary Anne (Tim) McCandless and Melissa (Lee) Hudson; nieces Kelsey (Paul) Czarnecki, Taylor (Robert) Wright, Lane (Jason) King, Chandler (Kyle) Neblett, Maddie Eastridge, Camber Ellis, Campbell Ellis; and nephews Miller Eastridge, Jake McCandless, J.D. Ellis, Leo Hudson, and Callum Hudson.
The Celebration of Life service will be Sunday, July 27, at 4:00 at Brentwood Baptist Church (7777 Concord Road, Brentwood, TN 37207.) Visitation will be held before the service from 2:00-4:00 pm.
