Timothy Warren Moorhead Obit

Born on August 23, 1972, in Atlanta, GA and passed on November 23, 2024, in Nashville, TN. Tim was the beloved son of Warren and Linda Moorhead and the father of three daughters: Georgia, Claire, and Noelle. He was previously married to Kimberly Roda.

A dedicated scholar, Tim graduated from Oak Mountain Academy in Carrollton, Georgia, and the McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington and Lee University and later completed an MBA at Georgetown University, DC.

Tim’s professional career was distinguished by his contributions to the financial services and healthcare industries. Early in his career, he served on the legislative staff of U.S. Senators John W. Warner of Virginia and Paul Coverdell of Georgia. He then transitioned to healthcare, spending 17 years at Humana in various leadership roles, including Market President for North Carolina. He later served as President of Ascension Insurance/Health Plan and Product Development in Nashville before joining Alignment Healthcare as Senior Vice President and Regional President, overseeing operations across multiple states.

In recent years, Tim embraced entrepreneurship with passion and creativity. Declaring he was “tired of working for The Man,” he launched two ventures under Bono Enterprises: Natchez Nectar and Little Beest Hot Honey. He partnered in Tiny Venture, LLC to build cargo houses in The Preserve at Dale Hollow, TN. He also deepened his commitment to causes close to his heart, particularly supporting children with developmental challenges. Tim was rarely seen without his two highly trained German Shepherds, who brought comfort to many as therapy dogs and to the rest of us, “the fear of God.”

Known for his love of speed—whether in technology, motorcycles, or competitive sports—Tim lived life with intensity and zeal.

A private graveside service will be held at the Carver Family plot in Anderson Funeral and Memorial Park, Lafayette, TN. In lieu of flowers, Tim’s parents kindly ask that memorial gifts be sent in loving memory of Tim to “Bailey Alexis Duncan Supplemental Needs Trust” c/o Attorney Elizabeth Sigler, BOAM Law PSC, 1010 College St, Suite 200, Bowling Green, KY 42102. Tim was a special friend/mentor to Bailey. His empathy for Bailey’s journey with Autism inspired her to succeed in the Next Steps program at Vanderbilt University. Tim and Bailey were truly kindred spirits. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
