Suzy Poteat passed away suddenly from a bacterial infection on May 24, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee.
She will be remembered for her huge heart, big smile, and loud laughter. As most of you know, Suzy had been sick most of the time she had lived in Antioch. She fought valiantly to live, with many stays at different hospitals. She was most recently in rehab trying to fight her way back to health.
She had so many friends and family members in North Carolina and in Tennessee and students in NC, who have many fond memories of her. She was a dedicated teacher who stood up for the rights of her special needs students.
She is survived by her two sisters, Pamela and Terry; her brother-in-law, Bobby; her three nephews, Josh, Brandon, and Serquey; her niece, Caroline; her great-nephew, Porter; and her dog, Bella.
The memorial service is at Providence Baptist Church, 1668 Sunset Road, Brentwood, TN 37027 on Saturday, June 22, 2024. Visitation is from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. and the celebration of life is at 2:00 p.m. https://www.woodbinefuneralhome.com
