Susan Lynn Taylor Harris, age 71, died Nov 18, 2022 after having COVID over a year ago and battling the resulting lung and kidney failure issues that followed.

Susan was born in Huntsville AL to the late Raymond Edward and Doris Mae Spray Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Amanda Lee Harris.

She is survived by Dennis Hilliard Harris, her husband of 51 years; sister Marilyn (David) Clark; son Austin Lee Harris; grandson Blake Harter; and great grandson Ryder Lee Harris (son of Austin).

She is also survived by “God daughter” April Penny; nephew Andy (Dana) Clark; nieces Rachel (Daniel) Zook and Renee (Bob) Bussiere; 7 grand nieces and nephews, 1 great grand nephew and 1 great grand niece.

Susan graduated from Hillwood High school in Nashville. She had a thirteen year career at Genesco working in Corporate Credit and as an Executive Administrative Assistant and retired when Amanda was born. She met her future husband, Dennis, at Genesco.

Susan had a passion for ministering to women. She ministered and taught

Women’s classes at Park Ave Baptist Church, Two Rivers Baptist and Long Hollow Church until her illnesses affected her ability to continue. She loved her family and raised two generations of children with daughter Amanda’s death. She was very patriotic and a member of the DAR and proud of her Revolutionary War Patriot, Ensign Edmund Taylor.

Her priorities were God, Family, Country – In that order.
