Susan Inez Broyles, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, at the age of 68. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on July 11, 1957, to the late David Ray McPherson and Linda Jane Bennett.

Susan lived a life full of love, kindness, and devotion to her family. She was married to the love of her life, Herbert Broyles, for 40 wonderful years. Together they built a home filled with laughter, warmth, and unwavering support. A proud and loving mother, Susan cherished every moment spent with her sons. She found immense joy in family trips to Florida, where she loved the beach and the simple pleasure of feeling the ocean breeze.

Susan dedicated many years to working at a daycare, where she lovingly watched over and cared for countless children. Her gentle heart and nurturing spirit left a lasting impact on the lives of many families in her community.

She is preceded in death by her parents David McPherson and Linda Bennett; her son Anthony “Boo” McPherson; brother David McPherson; and mother-in-law Ruby Broyles.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Herbert Broyles; her son, Michael; and her siblings: Donna (Andy), Pamela (Bobby), Jackie (Donald), Renn (Gary), Candace (Paul), and Thomasina (Mark). She will also be deeply missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who loved her dearly.

Susan’s life was a beautiful example of love, faith, and kindness. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A gathering of family and friends for Susan will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204.
