Susan H. Lawrence, 79, of Nashville, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025.
Susan was born January 27, 1946, in Knoxville, TN to John and Dorothy Lozier.
Susan was born in Knoxville but moved to Memphis at a very young age. She spent most of her adolescent and school years there until moving to Nashville as a Senior in high school, where she remained the rest of her life. She worked in the airline industry when she was young and loved to travel the world, often recounting those trips for many years to come. She later spent most of her professional life as a bookkeeper in the food brokerage industry, where she met so many lifelong friends.
Upon retirement, Susan loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed every minute she got spend at the ball field watching her grandkids various sports, unless one of those games interfered with a hair appointment or nail appointment – she did have priorities after all. After the loss of her husband 17 years ago, Susan got involved at Brentwood Baptist Church in the Nurture Team while also working part time for Hallmark. Susan loved her monthly bunco group and going to the movies with close friends. Even during her final days while she was rehabbing from an injury at NHC, Susan wanted to know when her next hair appointment was scheduled.
Preceded in death by her loving husband James Lawrence, her parents John and Dorothy Lozier, sister, Sandy Vaught, brother, John Lozier II, and stepson Steve Lawrence.
Survived by her sons, Chad (Melaney) Hall and Trace (Charlotte) Hall, grandchildren, Bella, Camden, Jones, Wyatt and Tess, stepchildren, Cathy White, Jeannie Garies and Andy Lawrence
A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, April 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM until time of service at the Hermitage Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN.
