Our hearts ache as we say goodbye to our dear Dian, a devoted mother, sister, and cherished friend. Born on March 9th, 1954, in Nashville, TN, Dian blessed us with her warmth and kindness for 70 wonderful years.
Dian was the cherished daughter of Carl Reed Davenport and Elizabeth June Mayo Davenport, who preceded her in passing. She was a devoted mother to her son Chris (Kelly) Douglas, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. Dian’s sisters, Robin (John) Hood and Betsy (Phillip) Uldrich, were not just siblings but her closest companions. Family meant everything to Dian, and she treasured every moment spent with her loved ones. Dian found immense joy in cheering on her nieces and nephews at their events, always their most enthusiastic supporter. Her presence will be dearly missed by her 6 nieces and nephews, Kate (Zach), Lara (Jason), Kyle (Lauren), Drew (Lori), Grayson (Tim), Cara (Parker), great-nieces and great-nephews, Piper, Camilla, Graham, Luke, Warner, Liza, Carly, and Reed.
Dian had a servant’s heart, always putting others before herself. She loved family gatherings, especially during Christmastime, when her home would light up with decorations and laughter. Traveling to the beach and the mountains with friends and family brought her great joy. Whether exploring new places or enjoying a quiet afternoon reading on her deck, Dian embraced life with enthusiasm and grace.
Dian was a member of the Portland Church of Christ and was a devoted Christian. She found solace in her quiet, unshakable faith.
Her passions were many: Travel, Reading, and Sports. Her creativity and love for the great outdoors were matched only by her intelligence, compassion, empathy, generosity, and kindness.
While we grieve her loss, we also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared with all of us. Dian’s caring spirit touched many, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire us.
