Susan D. Patton went to be with her Heavenly Father on May 13, 2024.
Born December 27, 1953.
Predeceased by husband Phil Patton and parents Frances and William Dansby.
Survived by son Ben Patton, daughters Elisabeth Guthrie (Ben) and Julia Humphrey (Joe), grandsons Lucas Guthrie, Simon Guthrie, Isaac Guthrie, and William Humphrey, and sister Kathy Hall (Wade).
Susan graduated from Stratford High School and the University of Tennessee College of Nursing. She worked as a nurse for the Metro Public Health Department for several years before leaving to focus on raising her children. Later, after receiving a master’s degree from Walden University, she worked as an instructor in the Inman College of Nursing at Belmont University.
Passionate about philanthropy, Susan founded The Giving Circle in 2008 with Susan Kelton, Ellen Anderson, and Pam Ferriss. She was a regular volunteer at Siloam Health and served on its board of directors. She was an active member of Christ Presbyterian Church. She loved traveling, quilting, and being with her family and friends. Her greatest treasures were her children and grandchildren. Susan’s warm and gentle spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
