Sondra Jannette Payne, lovingly known as Jan, passed away on May 17, 2026, in Nashville, TN, at the age of 76. Born on April 5, 1950, she lived a life filled with love and devotion to her family and friends. Jan was the cherished wife of Mike Payne, with whom she recently celebrated 57 years of marriage—a testament to their enduring bond. Together, they built a strong and loving family.
She is survived by her children Tony Payne, April Payne, and Chad Payne; her sisters; Sharyn Miles, Nan Yeager, brother Larry Murray; her daughter-in-law Heidi Skinner; and her future grandson-in-law Trey Ishmon. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Hannah Payne, Samantha Payne, Michael Payne, Ashley Payne, and Trent Payne; her great-grandson Rhidian Payne; as well as step-grandchildren Danielle, Katrina, Aryn, and their children.
Jan was the foundation of her family—a source of strength and unwavering support.
