OBITUARY: Simone Hunt

Simone Irene Hunt was a beloved great grandmother, grandmother and mother. She passed away peacefully in the early hours of Sunday, March 23, 2025, in Nashville TN, with her family by her side.

She was born in Rochester, MN on February 23, 1940, to Irene Fordham and Louis Villeneuve and was the couple’s only child. After her parents’ divorce and her mother’s death, Simone continued to live in Rochester. She lived with her aunt (Ione Fordham) and uncle (Jim Colgan) for her remaining school years. She attended Rochester High and was a Rockets cheerleader, graduating in 1957.

As a young adult, Simone lived in Florida where she met and married Leslie Rorie. Simone and Leslie welcomed their daughter Pamela on January 22, 1960. After their divorce, Simone and Pamela relocated to California. When working as a bank teller in California, Simone met Robert Hunt while helping him balance his checkbook. They were married shortly after. Simone and Robert welcomed their daughter Nicole on September 30, 1966.

Simone loved sunny days and relaxing on the shore. She loved animals, enjoyed crafting, and was an avid reader. She was a spiritual person and enjoyed studying the bible. She enjoyed a variety of music and never stopped dancing.

Simone leaves behind her daughters as well as five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
