Shirley S. Jones, age 84, passed away October 23, 2021, in Nashville, TN.
Mrs. Jones is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles M. Jones, and daughter, Allison Hail.
She is survived by her daughters, Leslie Hail (Bob Aronhalt), Beth Hail, Susie Hail Brett (Graham); stepsons, Charles M. Jones, Jr. (Becky), Kirk Jones; grandchildren, Matt Jones (Ashley), Kelly Nelson (Bentley), Hailey Brett, Dylan Hanrahan, Rachel Brett; sister, Frances Ellis (Jim); and 4 great-grandsons.
Ms. Jones was born in Opelika Alabama to Shelton R. Smith and Wildon L. Smith. She graduated from Auburn University in 1957 and was an avid Auburn football fan. After getting married, she moved to Hopkinsville KY where she raised her 4 daughters. For many years, she worked for Christian Church Homes managing several retirement complexes. After retiring, she moved to Nashville TN with her husband Charley where they enjoyed their home looking out on the Cumberland River. She loved to travel, read, cook, and spend time with her faithful dogs, Miller and Lily.
A private family Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
