Shirley Lois Gary was born in Nashville, TN on May 6th, 1927, and passed away on September 8, 2021.
Shirley was a beautiful, loving, and caring soul. To know her was to love her. She loved living life, her family, her friends, and her foods. She always appreciated anything anybody ever did for her, no matter how small the gesture. Her daughter, grandson, and 2 beautiful great-grandchildren were her pride and joy throughout her life. She is preceded in death by; her husband Roy Gary, after losing him in 1996, and her daughter Jeanette, aka “Tootsie”, after losing her from cancer in 2000.
Shirley, later she moved from their family home on Watsonwood into Dandridge Towers where she made many cherished friends whom she loved dearly and appreciated sharing her life with. In 2017, she moved in with her grandson, James Knight III (aka Joel, Joe, and Jody), his wife Kelley, and thankfully shared bringing into the world her great-grandchildren Braxton and Peyton. Throughout the last year and a half of her life, and where she peacefully passed, she off and on experienced living at The Reserve at Spring Hill where she was lovingly cared for in so many ways. We are so thankful for the respect, dignity, and love they showed her throughout her time there.
Shirley lived a long beautiful life and was very much at peace at the end in knowing she would be meeting her brothers, husband, and daughter in Heaven, may she forever rest in peace. We will always love and miss you Maw Maw!!!
