It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sheila Rose Horton, 65, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, who passed away on May 5, 2025. Sheila was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on May 30, 1959, to Celia Watkins and Willis Horton.
Sheila’s legacy is defined by a life of service, compassion, and unwavering faith. After earning her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and Nursing from Tennessee State University, Sheila dedicated 35 years to St. Thomas Ascension Hospital as a Registered Nurse. Throughout her career, she touched countless lives, offering care and comfort to those in need, always putting others before herself. Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her work, as she was known for being loving, outgoing, yet deeply content in her quiet moments.
In her free time, Sheila enjoyed planting flowers, a hobby that reflected her nurturing nature, and she cherished spending time with her family, always making memories to treasure. A proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, Sheila also demonstrated her commitment to community and sisterhood, offering support and leadership where needed.
She was a woman of profound faith, which guided her through every chapter of her life. Her love for God and her family was at the center of all she did, and her kindness and generosity were evident in every interaction.
Sheila is survived by her beloved son, Kenneth Howard, Jr.; her brother, Willis Horton, Jr.; her granddaughter, Lyniah Howard; her daughter-in-law, Summer Howard; and her cousin, Miechelle “Mimi” Horton.
She was predeceased by her parents, Celia Watkins and Willis Horton.
