Senda Eulene Akers Ferrell passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, at her home in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born on June 11, 1939, to the late William Stokley and Bertha Lee Holder Akers of Centertown, Tennessee.
Eulene married Jimmy Ferrell in May of 1963. They lived the majority of their time together in Nashville, where they raised their two children, Nerissa and Brent.
Eulene was a woman of strong faith and was a true servant of the Lord, an active member of West Meade Fellowship. She embodied kindness and humility in every aspect of her life. She was a loving wife and devoted mother and took special pride in her three grandsons.
Eulene was a master in the kitchen, known for her baking talents. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and spending time with loved ones.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Timothea McBride; sisters, Euna Juanita Akers, Elwanda Akers Martin, Irma Akers Locke, and Peggy Ann Akers; and brothers, Bernal Orion “Rooster” Akers and William Stokley “Red” Akers, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jimmy Ferrell; daughter, Nerissa Ferrell and her son Sam Ferrell; son, Brent (Laura) Ferrell, and their sons Whitt and Russ Ferrell; sister, Genay Thompson; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family is scheduled for Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM, with a memorial service to follow at 12:30 PM, both at West Meade Fellowship in Bellevue. She will be laid to rest at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to West Meade Fellowship, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or a charity of your choice.
