Ruby Elaine Porter, age 97, of Nashville, TN, passed away peacefully on September 4th, 2024 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee.
Elaine was born on June 29, 1927, in White Bluff, TN, to Jasper Lee Porter and Amie Annie Taylor Porter.
In addition to her parent, she is preceded in death by her brother Eddie Lee Porter, Sr., and sisters Lavane Van Winkle, Annie Francis Foriest and Martha Belle Corlew.
Elaine is survived by six nieces and nephews, Terry Forrest, Georgia Hafner, Ernest Forrest (Darlene), Eddie Porter (Barbara), Fred Porter, JPorter Share (KC), and great nieces and nephews.
Elaine moved to Nashville from Dickson County at 15. She began her career at Royal Globe Insurance, advancing to become supervisor of the secretarial pool. After she retired, she became a bookkeeper at Eddie’s Garage and retired again at the age of 94.
She was a long time cat lover and is survived by her cats, Angel and Pesto.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 12:00 on Monday, September 9, 2024, at Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson TN followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM with internment burial afterwards at Williams Cemetery in White Bluff, TN. http://taylorsince1909.com
