Mrs. Rosia Mary McVea of Nashville, Tennessee was called home on Saturday, April 9th, 2022, she was 79 years old.

Rosia is preceded in death by her husband, Loy McVea III; Father, Robert Carter; Daughter, Pamela Newton, Grand-daughter, Maia McVea; Brother, James Carter; Sisters, Ann Slider and Carolyn Whitworth; and Aunt, Liza Jenkins.

Surviving Rosia are her mother, Mary Carter; Siblings, Edward Carter, Aaron Carter, Adel Carter, and Ann Carter; Children, Loy McVea IV(Ana Richiez), Mark McVea, and Bridgett Gentry; Grandchildren, Devon McVea, Derrick McVea, Synetta Gentry(Davisha Scott), David Simmons, Aleah Newton, Marquesha McVea, Nicole McVea, Loy Coby McVea, Paul Campbell, Kylie McVea, and Mateo McVea; Great- Grandchildren Cymaia McVea, Tamaia Burgess, Kalani Newton, Saraya Newton, Araya Newton, Keilan Newton, King Shelton, Derrick McVea, Jr., Allyson McVea, Raelynn McVea, Erin Mathis, and Arthur Mathis.

After graduating from St. Phillips University in Texas, Rosia retired from banking and went right into Data Processing. Eventually, she was able to operate her own Real Estate business, which she was very proud of. Her hobbies and interests included gardening, canning, cooking, quilting, and sewing. She was also a member of a bowling league, and Rosia bowled the ever elusive 300 in Germany.

Rosia was very family oriented. She absolutely adored her grandchildren. As a genuine Texas rose, Rosia had an open-door policy for her family. You could tell her anything and she would listen and forgive. She loved her mother very much, even talking to her every day. Rosia’s last wishes were for her family to love each other and be there for one another.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 21st from 4-8 pm at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home and Friday 9-11 am. A Funeral service will be held Friday, April 22nd at 11 am, in the Phillips-Robinson Chapel. https://www.phillipsrobinson.com Interment will follow at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
