Roscoe Coleman Cutsinger III Obit

R.C. “Buddy” Cutsinger, 80, of Nashville, TN, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, friendship, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Born in Zanesville, OH, on August 21, 1944, to Roscoe and Helen Cutsinger, Buddy moved to Nashville during his childhood with his mother, Helen. He was a proud graduate of Hillsboro High School and went on to earn a degree in Business Administration from Tennessee Tech.

Buddy had a lifelong passion for sports that began playing little league baseball. While his love for sports was broad, nothing compared to his passion for the Tennessee Volunteers—his blood ran orange (Go Vols!).

He honorably served as a finance officer in the United States Army at Fort Bragg before earning a master’s degree in finance from the University of Tennessee. This led to a 42-year career in banking, where he was known for his integrity, wisdom, and lasting friendships as a commercial lender.

Beyond his career and love of sports, Buddy’s life was shaped by his deep faith. A devoted follower of Christ, he was committed to studying Scripture, learning with others through Bible Study Fellowship, and serving the local church as both an elder and deacon.

Ever faithful to his family, Buddy is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Carol; his sons, Chris and Bryan; and his four cherished grandchildren, Sydney, Ellie, Graceyn, and Jude.

Buddy will be remembered for his steady presence, insightful wisdom, and fun-loving laugh. While we grieve his passing, we take comfort in the hope of Christ, knowing we will one day be reunited.
