Ronnie Louis Ford, born March 2, 1947, in Gallatin, Tennessee, passed away on May 8, 2025.

He was the beloved son of Joyce Forkum and faced life with courage and resilience, overcoming the challenges of blindness from a young age. Ronnie attended the State of Tennessee School for the Blind, where he laid the foundation for his determined spirit and perseverance throughout his life.

From an early age, Ronnie’s ambition was to play music, and throughout his life, he kept a smile on his face, often reminiscing about the fun and often humorous adventures he shared with his friends and family, both as a child and an adult. Ronnie worked for the state of Tennessee for 36 years, notably in the printing press industry, a career that brought him great pride.

His proudest professional achievement was traveling with Governor McWhorter to various conferences, an experience that fueled his love for travel. A lifelong music lover, Ronnie enjoyed any opportunity to indulge in his passion. He also had a deep affection for western movies and found joy in spending time with family, who meant the world to him.

Ronnie will be remembered as a deeply motivated, kind, and generous man, whose loving nature touched the lives of all who knew him. He was a devoted husband and brother, always putting others first.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mathie (George) Birdwell and Lewis Birdwell, his mother Joyce Forkum, and his siblings: Donald Edward Ford, Deloras Ann Roberson (Richard), and Deborah Joyce Brewer (Dwight).

Ronnie is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 15 years, Carolyn Ford; daughter, Missy (David) Weaver; grandchildren, Gregory Weaver (fiancé Taylor), Justin Weaver (Brooke); and five great-grandchildren.

Ronnie’s legacy of love, strength, and kindness will live on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate to know him. He will be deeply missed.

A private graveside service will be held for the family. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/nashville-tn
