Robert Joseph “Joey” Gafford Sr. of Pleasant View, Tennessee passed away on February 7, 2026 at the age of 72.
Joey was never happier than when he had a guitar in his hands, carving a pumpkin, a fishing line in the water or watching his grandkids do the things that they love. Joey‘s spirit is defined by love for life’s simple and beautiful moments.
Joey was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff & Gertie Gafford.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Merry Belinda Gafford, his children, Stacy Gafford Wimsatt (Eric), and Robert Joseph Gafford, Jr. (Ariel). He is pawpaw to his grandchildren, Gracie Wimsatt, Savannah Gafford, Brianna Gafford, Aubrey Gafford and Ollie Wimsatt. Big brother to Pat Gafford Parrish (Gary). He was a fun, loving uncle Joe to his niece, Jennifer Norris Allen (John).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12th from 4PM until 8PM and again on Friday, February 13th from 10AM until the hour of Service at 12PM with family officiating at Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home. https://www.andersonandgarrett.com
Interment will follow at EverRest of Cheatham Cemetery with Joseph Gafford, Ollie Wimsatt, Garry Meador, Kevin Jones, Kent Jones, and Ron McAllister serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Eric Wimsatt, Mike Williamson, Sammy Adcock, John Allen, Gary Parrish.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plan a night to spend with your loved ones, eat some food and tell funny stories.
