Robert Gains Swift, 41, of Goodlettsville TN, passed away peacefully with his wife Dawn M Swift (Siscel) by his side, on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, in Nashville TN.
He was born June 19, 1982, in Montgomery, AL, to his loving parents Julia and Lee Swift of Pinehurst NC.
Robert was a kind man leaving behind a wife of 15 years Dawn M Swift, and two sons Blake age 9, and Caleb age 7, his father and mother Lee and Julia Swift, of Pinehurst NC, a twin brother William Swift (Caroline) of Mobile, AL and two nephews Henry and Rives and one niece Evelyn.
Robert is preceded in death by a son Kypton L. Swift and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Rob will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious smile, and unwavering love for his family. His memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
His love for his family was unparalleled. He cherished his wife, Dawn, and together they created a beautiful life filled with love and happiness. Rob’s devotion to his sons was unwavering, he never missed an opportunity to support them in their activities. Even in his final days, Rob made sure to attend every game and even treated Dawn to a date night which included dinner and a concert. His love for family was truly inspiring.
Robert was a graduate of Wingate University. He ran cross-country in high school and college. Continuing his love of running, he ran several miles a day until his body would not let him continue. When running was no longer possible, he embraced walking to stay active and connected to the outdoors. He also enjoyed hiking, camping, and being with his sons walking around the neighborhood.
Robert had several employment opportunities but none more rewarding to him than substitute teaching at Goodlettsville Elementary School where his sons attend as well as other schools in the Nashville area. Robert was an avid fan of watching his sons play soccer and football, never missing a game.
Rob’s faith was an integral part of his life, and he found comfort and strength in his church and church family. In his final days, he assured Dawn that he was not afraid because Jesus was with him. Rob’s unwavering faith brought him peace, and he is now reunited with the Lord.
