Richard Gale Wigart, 94, of Nashville, Tennessee, joined his Lord and Savior on November 16, 2024. He was born on July 6, 1930, in Topeka, Kansas, to the late Louie Wigart and Vera Barr.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Wanda Wigart; son, Jeffery Wigart; grandfather, William (Rebeka) Wigart; and brothers, Dale, and Jim.
Richard is survived by his 3 sons, Michael (Darla), David (Sylvia) and Gary; grandchildren, Rachael (Justin), Bryce, Connor, Kendall (Callie), Kayla (Brian), Chad (Meghan), Erica, Chris (Tawnna), and Chelsea (David); and great-grandchildren, Amelia, Brayson, Cailynn, Deacon, Griffon, Beckett, Collins, Colbie, Caiden, Warren, Theo, and Beckett.
Richard was a jack of all trades. He knew how to work with wood and leather work. He created many different wood pieces to include pens for his grandchildren. He was even a carpenter/cabinet maker with his son David for many years. He loved to garden and knew how to grow everything from flowers to vegetables. He had a special talent for making different foods, but Erica says that he makes the best oatmeal she has ever tasted.
Even with all of his hobbies, there is one thing that was most important to him, and that was his family. If they were ever in need of anything, he would always be there for them, no questions asked. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
