Phyllis was a multi-faceted lady; a wife, a mother, a friend, a business partner, an educator; for sure one special lady. Phyllis was my wife, my muse, my soulmate, my best friend, my greatest fan. Whatever project that I may be doing at the time, Phyllis was always interested. If the project involved welding, she wanted to weld, and she did. If it was soldering, she soldered; if metal spinning, she would do some of it. Whether woodworking or some electrical project, she was interested and wanted to be involved and wanted to know how to do it also.
She was fun loving. She was a loving mother, very proud of her son. She was the quintessential Granny. She loved her grandchildren. In the hospital, even when somewhat sedated, when any of the grandkids came to visit, she would smile, and her face would light up. All three made her smile.
She really loved participating in our hobby of living history recreating the time before 1840. The camping, cooking over an open fire, or just relaxing and enjoying the slower pace of yesteryear. When we would do demo camps for the public, she especially enjoyed sharing information about the time period with anyone that had questions. She enjoyed participating in all aspects of the hobby, including throwing the knife and tomahawk, which she could do well. She also did very well in the woods walk (simulating hunting for food) with a rifle.
Phyllis always considered my brother and sister as her brother and sister and my brother and sister-in-law also her brother and sister. She always looked forward to the six of us taking siblings trips.
Comments from the many friends that followed our hospital journey give some insight as how Phyllis was well Phyllis was thought of.
Thank You everyone.
Your outpouring of love and support has been overwhelming.
