With heavy hearts and deep love, we remember Phillip “Phil” Hallman-devoted husband, father, and proud Papa-who passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, in Cookeville, Tennessee, at the age of 78, surrounded by those who loved him most.
Phil was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Donna Hallman; his parents, Russell and Margaret Hallman; his sister, Madeline Gentry; his sister-in-law, Deborah Coe; and his son-in-law, Christopher Tollett.
He leaves behind a family who cherished him dearly: his brother, Russell “Rusty” Hallman; his daughter, Stephanie Tollett; his granddaughter, Corrine Tollett; and his brothers-in-law, William “Hammer” Gentry and Charlie Coe.
Born and raised in Nashville, Phil grew up in the Woodbine community and graduated from Glencliff High School, Class of 1966. He dedicated more than 40 years of service to the state, building a life rooted in hard work, loyalty, and quiet strength.
Phil found joy in life’s simple pleasures-casting a line while fishing, spending time on the bowling lanes or golf course, and capturing moments through photography. He could often be found listening to his extensive record collection, appreciating music in a way that reflected his thoughtful spirit. At home, he shared a special bond with his beloved dogs, Sasha and Tucker, who brought him endless comfort and companionship.
More than anything, Phil treasured his family. He and Donna built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support, spending countless hours at the ballpark cheering on their daughter. Their marriage was a beautiful example of enduring love and partnership.
Phil’s kindness, warmth, and generous heart left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rest easy, Dream Weaver.
