Paul David Hinton

Hinton, Paul David, 67, of Nashville passed away peacefully on August 15, 2023. The Laid-back Hippie Guy has been called home.

Paul was an easy-going, kind, fun man that will be sorely missed by his family. As the cool-guy, Paul never argued with anyone and considered himself a simple man with simple pleasures. He enjoyed shooting firearms and absolutely loved animals. This included cats and dogs, but Paul had the ability to get deer to eat right out of his hands. He also loved food. Among his favorites were Mexican and Chinese dishes, Mountain Dew, and everything went perfect with a Busch or a glass of wine. Towards the end, he had a constant craving for mashed potatoes. His top priority in life though, was taking care of his family. He was a good father and grandfather and showed his family that he loved them.

Paul joined the Army on his birthday in 1973. After the Army, he worked at Baltz Brothers. He then spent 17 years as a chef at Summit Hospital.

He was proudly Lakota. His Lakota name, Akicita Cante Waste, means Good Heart Warrior. This is truly a perfect description of Paul.

Paul is preceded in death by his mother, Mary M. Hinton; Brother, Ralph Hinton; and Sister, Mary Sue Hinton.
He is survived by his sons, Charles (Jennye) Hinton and Chistopher Hinton; Grandson, Owen Hinton; Father, Edwin L. Hinton; Girlfriend, Debbie Stamps; Sisters, Margaret Hinton and Jan Hinton; Brother, Terry Hinton; and Best Friend, Sonny Holland.

Visitation will be held at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home, 2707 Gallatin Pike, Nashville, TN 37217 on Tuesday, August 22nd from 12pm until his Celebration of Life at 2pm.
