Patsy Ann Purtle Holman celebrated her 85th birthday in Heaven. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family who will miss her gentle loving nature.

She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 3, 1939, to Arthur and Ruth Dodson. The family relocated to Manchester, Tennessee and later the Nashville area where she met her husband, Raymond Purtle. She later relocated to Madison to raise her 5 boys, Raymond, Jr, Steven, David, Jeffrey, and Todd.

She attended Edgefield Baptist Church as a young woman, but later placed membership at Alta Loma Baptist Church. She was a woman of faith all her life who loved God and loved people.

She started working as a parts picker for World Parts. She was a hard worker and a great supervisor who eventually would be promoted to logistics manager. Her special talent was lifting up those around her, especially the ladies she worked with helping and encouraging them to better their own stations in life by pursuing higher education.

She was tremendously proud of her sons and cherished each of them in their own special way. Patsy’s down-to-earth demeanor helped her develop many friendships through the years. She found peace and quiet in her garden tending to her irises and other flowers.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ruth Dodson, husbands, Raymond Purtle, Sr. and Howard L. Holman, son, Jeffrey Purtle, brothers, Michael Wrather and Joe Wrather.
