OBITUARY: Patrick H. ‘Pat’ Still

Patrick H. “Pat” Still, known by friends and family as Pat, died June 22, 2022, after suffering a massive stroke. He was 88.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernice and Lila Still; and brother, Jack.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; two sisters, Gloria Roof and Jewell Locklair; three nephews, Chad Locklair, Jon Locklair, and Shane Smith. Special friends, Maria and Stephen Peek; and daughters, Katya and Anastasia, of Norfolk, Va., and Sasha and Luba Demeshkin with children Dasha and Kirill, of Tampa, FL.; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Pat was born in Barnwell, SC., on December 20, 1933. He graduated from North Greeneville University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He also served in the United States Air Force.

While in college and seminary he worked several summers selling books for Nashville-based Southwestern Company. After seminary he became a sales manager for the company, retiring in 1975. He married his wife, Linda, in 1977.

In retirement, he bought real estate in Nashville, Brentwood, and Franklin, made needed repairs, and rented them. Pat was a committed Christian and a founding member of ClearView Baptist Church in Franklin. Wherever he went he shared his faith with others, leading hundreds to Christ. He traveled on mission trips to more than 30 countries and always returned home celebrating the lives of those who had prayed to receive the Lord.

A private burial will be held. His life will be celebrated in a public memorial on Monday, June 27, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. and preceded by visitation at 1:00 p.m. at ClearView Baptist Church, 537 Franklin Road, Franklin, TN with John Gardner officiating.
