O. B. Thomason Jr., age 96 passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Nell Carolyn Chilton; parents, OB Thomason and Elizabeth Thomason Gilmore; sister Carolyn Thomson Sharman; he survived by his daughter Beth (Randy) Ross; son, Brad Thomason; grandchildren Kelley (Scott) Archer, Neal Bryant, Joy Bryant, and great-grandchildren Mason Bryant and Anna Bryant.
He went to high school in Columbus Georgia and attended college at Vanderbilt University on a football scholarship from 1944-47 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree. He was a member of the Sigma fraternity whereby he derived many friendships that he enjoyed throughout his life. He married Nell Carolyn Chilton in 1948 and began working at the R. H. Chilton Company as financial Vice President. In 1980 he founded Account Data Systems providing software support too many industries in the Nashville market.
OB was active in Hillwood Country Club serving as President and Treasure. He was one of the early members after the planting of St. Georges Episcopal Church, Nashville whereby he and Nell raised their family.
