Nancy Irene Mangrum, 88, a life-long resident of Nashville, TN passed away Tuesday the 16th of January, at her home.
Born in Nashville, TN on July 14, 1935 to parents Daley Paul and Addie V Huddleston Watson. She grew up in North Nashville and attended North High School. She later met and married Boyd Wade Mangrum of Nashville.
Nancy had many jobs throughout her life including Tennessee Wholesale Drugs, Inacomp Computer Systems, and she retired from Sears where she worked in Maintenance Agreement Sales.
In later years she was a window model for Chico’s live events and was always known to dress to the nines; however, her main focus in life was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and very proud “Nana” to her grandchildren whom were her pride and joy. She always had a smile on her face and a laugh in her heart.
Nancy loved cooking for her family, “Sunday Dinners”, gardening in her yard, bowling, and many many years of socializing with her life-long friends, but her passion was being with her family and attending school and sporting events of her grandchildren, who referred to her as Nanny-GOAT, Nana-Banana, and Fancy Nancy. She also had a love for collecting angels, dolls, dragonflies, decorative pigs, and redecorating her home.
Nancy is survived by her Children, Jeannie Mangrum, Darlene (Ben) Lankster, Shelley Mangrum, and Wade (Joy) Mangrum Jr.; her Grandchildren, Branson (Hannah) Lankster, David Lankster Jr., Daniel Lankster, Natalie Lankster, Jackson Mangrum, Callie Mangrum, Blair (Mark) Bego, and Great Granddaughter Ally Bego, many loved nieces and a nephew, and special loved ones Morgan Means and Knox Nasby.
She is preceded in death by her Parents, Daley Paul Watson and Addie V Huddleston Watson; Husband, Boyd Wade Mangrum; her Siblings, Paul Watson, George Watson, Martha Hunley, Mary Alice Lovell, and Grandson Logan Bain Lankster.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will begin on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane Nashville, TN 37204. A Celebration of Life for Nancy will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 1:00 PM with Dr. Ernest Standerfer officiating with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
