Myra Joyce Rose, age 90, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on April 30, 2026.
Joyce was born in Nashville on October 1, 1935, to the late Marvin and Fannie Reed. She attended East High School and later devoted many years to caring for others as a nurse at Bordeaux Hospital, where she worked until an injury brought her professional career to an early close.
In her younger years, Joyce had a spirited and adventurous side and loved speeding down the highway drag racing cars. As her life unfolded, she became a devoted homemaker who lovingly raised three of her own children and later her cherished granddaughter, Amanda.
Joyce was known as an excellent cook, and her family deeply treasured holidays gathered around her table. Christmas was her favorite season, as she delighted in the familiar sights, sounds, and comforting aromas that filled her home each year.
She had a special love for angels, collecting figurines and artwork that reflected her enduring faith. Joyce was deeply spiritual and held a strong belief in her salvation, a belief that guided her throughout her life.
She will be remembered for her warm spirit, unwavering faith, and the love she gave so freely to her family.
