Michael Thomas ‘Tommy’ Monohan Jr., age 55, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends who were always entertained by his stories, wit, and hilarious sense of humor. His infectious smile and laugh will live on forever.
Tommy was born on November 6th, 1967, in Nashville, TN. He graduated from Father Ryan High School, Class of 1986, and attended Middle TN State University, receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1992. He continued his education, earning a Degree in Mechatronics Technology A.A.S. Tommy joined Samuel, Son & Co. in Columbia, TN as a Controls Technician in 2018, where he was employed until his death.
Tommy was a fan of music, riding motorcycles and was talented with home remodeling. He was knowledgeable in so many fields and tinkered with anything that was of interest to him. Most of all, Tommy loved and cherished being a father.
Tommy is survived by his son, Asa Michael Monohan; parents, Mike and Anita Monohan, and sister, Jenny Monohan. As well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bill and Ethel Monohan; maternal grandparents, Pat and Betty Corsini and sister, Lisa Maureen Monohan.
Visitation will be at 1:00 pm followed by a Funeral Mass at 2:00 pm Friday, March 10, 2023 at St. Stephen Catholic Community, 14544 Lebanon Road, Old Hickory, TN. Services followed by a reception at 3 p.m. in the St. Stephen’s Holy Family Center Lower Hall.
