It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Melba Joy Hibdon on December 22nd, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Joy was born on January 18, 1953, to the late Ward Washington Hudgins and Melba Iwillda Overby Hudgins. Joy loved to talk to people. She loved to shop anywhere that she could. She was a teachers aid for Metro Schools for over 30 years fulfilling her passion for teaching special needs children.
She loved going to church and hearing the message of God. Her family was the most important to her. She would always be there for them whenever they needed her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years, Homer Chester Hibdon, Jr.; sister, Patsy Haynes; and brother, Rev. Paul Hudgins.
Joy is survived by Kristi (Jason) Marlin; nieces, Tammy Cannon and Paula Boles; and several other nieces and nephews.
