Maye Williams Lankford passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at the age of 89.
She was born in Castilian Springs and spent most of her life in the surrounding metro Nashville area. Maye was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
After Maye graduated High School, she went to work at Life and Casualty Insurance where she met her beloved husband, Ed Lankford, of 62 years. Shortly thereafter, she dedicated her time to being an amazing home maker and mother to their daughters, Tiffany and Letitia. They fondly remember the beautiful clothes she sewed for them and the fun times they had.
She enjoyed and loved her Tusculum Church of Christ family. The time she spent teaching and working in the Day Care were some of her favorites, in which she touched the lives of many children. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Preceded in death by husband, Edward “Ed” Lankford.
Survived by daughters, Tiffany (David) Bobo and Letitia (Kirk) Strange; grandchildren, Zachariah Lawrence Fee, Gavin Lane Fee, Garrett Michael Upfold, Addie Upfold and Hope Lankford Strange; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted by Harvey Hearn on Monday, July 17, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. (visitation 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road.
