With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Matthew “Matt” Todd Howell, who departed from this world on March 28, 2024, at the age of 32.
Matt was born in Nashville, TN, on April 3, 1991.
As a young boy, he enjoyed spending time in nature, drawing, writing, and listening to music. Matt was sensitive, funny, and sweet. He loved his family and had a competitive spirit with sports and his artistic endeavors.
During his life, Matt faced battles with addiction and its consequences. Yet, amidst the turmoil, there were glimpses of his true essence — an intelligent, strong, creative person with a desire to contribute to the world in a positive way.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to AGAPE or Open Table Nashville in Matt’s memory to support others facing similar struggles.
Matt is survived by his family, including Dona Howell, Jim (Jean Byassee) Howell, and Jay (Mary Ann) Howell, who loved him unconditionally.
Though we mourn his loss, we take solace in the knowledge that he is now free from the burdens of this world. May he rest in peace, embraced in the eternal love and grace of God.
