Mary Jean Kruse Obit

Mary Jean was born to Edwin (Newt) and Marie (Grassl) Winter on January 8, 1945 and died on September 26, 2024. She was the third child of a family of eight. She was married to Michael B. Kruse for 48 years.

She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church. She was active in the Catholic community and regularly served as a parent on Search weekends. She also volunteered at the Crisis Pregnancy Center, Honest Day’s Labor, the Tennessee Arts League, and the Nashville Public Library. In her spare time, she loved to play bridge, travel, paint and garden. She loved cold pizza and ice cream and never met a jigsaw puzzle she couldn’t solve.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; her sisters, Elaine Duke, Lois Heart, Colleen White; brother-in-law, Paul Duke and sister-in-law, Barb Winter. She is survived by her children, Amy (Jim) Hubbuch, Lisa (Eric) Link, Kevin (Lindsay) Kruse and Eric (Shala) Kruse, 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and her siblings, Sr. Annette Winter, Glenn Winter, Margie (Ralph) Pauly and Patrick (Debbie) Winter; brother-in-laws, Lee Heart and Bill White.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and a Memorial Mass will be at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, October 14, 2024 at St. Henry Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Henry’s St. Vincent De Paul Society or Ronald McDonald House Charities of Nashville.
