OBITUARY: Martin David ‘Marty’ McCall

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Martin David “Marty” McCall, who left us on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Vanderbilt Hospital. Born on July 6, 1958, in Wilmington, Ohio, Marty was the son of the late David Arthur and Ruthetta (Brewer) McCall.

Marty was a man whose spirit brought joy to those around him. A devoted husband, brother, father, and grandfather, he treasured every moment spent with his family, particularly his grandchildren. He had a remarkable ability to find humor in all life’s challenges, brightening spirits with his wit and his unforgettable, contagious laugh.

A true renaissance man, Marty was a talented musician a gifted carpenter. After retiring, he became a meticulous furniture restorer, capable of building almost anything out of wood. He also found great enjoyment in his passion for collecting and restoring old radios, often attending swap meets in search of his next project. Beyond his hobbies, Marty enjoyed cooking, grilling, fishing, telling stories, and playing pool. He was also a proud member of the Elks Lodge 2473 for several years.

Marty is survived by his loving wife, Julie; his sons, Joshua (Ashlee) McCall and David (Carol) McCall; and his adored grandchildren, Jude, Solomon, and Adalynn McCall. He is also survived by his siblings, Doug (Bonnie) McCall, Missi (Dave) West, Michele (Chris) Michael, and Jeffrey (Vivian) McCall, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
