Martha Faye Sanders, age 84, passed away May 10, 2025. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee, January 22, 1941, to the late Laura Meadows Hunter and Noah Clay Hunter. She spent her childhood in Joelton, Tennessee and a large portion of her life in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Martha is preceded in death by six brothers, Phillip, Eldon, Fred, Alvin and J.F Hunter. Martha is preceded in death by husbands Sam Sanders and Donald McGinnis.
Martha is survived by her one daughter and two sons, Melba Casey of Madison. Tennessee, Randall Potts of Florence, Alabama and Sammy Sanders of Bowling Green, Kentucky; two granddaughters Dana Casey (Demetris Allison) and Katie Coosenberry (Kobey): four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Paul Hunter (Gracie) and Donald Ray Hunter; and several nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Martha enjoyed gardening and stock car racing. She could be found most weekends at the racetrack, home working in the garden with flowers or vegetables, or out visiting with friends and family. Martha worked as a homemaker through life and enjoyed taking care of her family. She was loving and bright shining to those around her.
Visitation is from 2pm – 8pm Monday, May 19, 2025 at Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home in Joelton, TN; and again on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 10am until the hour of funeral service at 11am at Anderson and Garrett Funeral Home in Joelton TN with Rev. Hubert Cunningham officiating. Martha’s family will serve as pallbearers.
