In Loving Memory of Our Cherished Marilyn
February 6th, 1945 – January 18th, 2025
Our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to Marilyn Dale Toy, a devoted wife, mother, and friend. Born and raised in Nashville, TN, Marilyn touched the lives of everyone she met with her kind, supportive, and compassionate nature.
She was the pillar of our family, embodying loyalty and hard work in everything she did. Marilyn’s dedication to her loved ones was unparalleled. She shared a deep and enduring love with her husband, Larry Toy of 41 years, and together they built a life filled with warmth and affection.
Marilyn was a beloved mother to her daughters, Susan Breading and Leslie (Kelvin) Kirby, who were the light of her life. Though we mourn the passing of her daughter Shelly Orrien, we take comfort in knowing they are reunited. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie O and Fern Graves; brother, Robert Yates whom she adored and remembered fondly.
Marilyn was a barber, and she embodied a proper lady with always having her hair, face and nails done. Marilyn had a profound love for the simple joys in life. She found peace in the mountains. Her evenings were filled with the familiar comfort of her favorite soap operas or reading, pastimes she cherished.
As we reflect on her life, we remember Marilyn’s kind heart and the way she made everyone feel special.
We will miss her gentle spirit and the joy she brought into our lives. Marilyn’s legacy of love and compassion will continue to live on in our hearts.
