Louis Carson McMillan was known for his strong work ethic, quiet wisdom, and unwavering commitment to those he cared for. Throughout his life, he exemplified integrity and perseverance, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Family was the cornerstone of Louis’s life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle, whose guidance, humor, and steady presence will be deeply missed. He took great pride in his family and found his greatest joy in time spent with loved ones – sharing stories, laughter, and life lessons that will carry on for generations.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Hattie McMillan; his children, Sharon McMillan and Louis A. McMillan; and his grandson, Jerrick Mills.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Jerrie L. McMillan; his children, Michelle (Joseph) Sonitt and Kevin (Tina) McMillan; his grandchildren, Aaliyah McMillan, Zayvin Garrett, and Lilliana McMillan; his great grandchildren, Kyson and Khayir Thompson and Jerrick McKissack; he is also survived by his cousin, Ester Brown; nieces, Adrienne Harris, Andrea Hughes, Brianna Hughes, Kim Hughes, Tocarra (Cedric) Fleming, Tanya Hughes; nephew, Jamie (Tracy) Hughes; sister in law, Karen Vaughn; brothers in law, Jim (Jean) Hughes and Lawrence (Arlene) Woodard; extended family members, Erica Jones, Wanda Sanders, DeMarco Sanders, DeMarrion Sanders; a host of other relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
