Linda Lou Davenport, born August 30, 1938, in Battle Creek, MI passed on July 15, 2021.
She was married to the love of her life, Gerald (Jerry) Davenport for 62 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother (Nanny) and member of First Church since 1985.
Linda was preceded in death by daughter, Kimberly Carol, her parents, and 8 siblings. She is survived by husband, Jerry Davenport; Daughters, Tonja Joy, Jerrilyn Joy (Wendell), Leilani Joy (Jay), and Shawnee Joy (William); sister, Junie; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Linda made lifetime friends while living in Colorado Springs CO, Kansas City and St Louis MO, Seattle WA, and Nashville TN.
Linda always remained very active in her church, local community, children and grandchildren’s schools. She will be remembered for her feisty spirit, practical jokes, a quick comeback, infectious laugh, smile, and hugs. Linda was regarded as one of the truest Christians by many, her love for Jesus was evident through her true love for everyone she met. She found her greatest joy in giving of herself, time, and resources to others. She will be remembered as “irreplaceable”.
A Celebration of Linda’s life will be on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at 11:30 AM, at First United Pentecostal Church. The interment will follow at Middle TN Veterans Cemetery on McCrory Lane.
Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, from 4 PM until 7 PM, then again on Wednesday from 10:30 AM until the service time at 11:30 AM, all at First Church on Charlotte Pike.
