Linda Irene Carroll, age 71, of Old Hickory, Tennessee passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023.

Born in Charleston, WV, Linda spent her early years in Huntington WV, and Cincinnati where she met her husband, Steve, and started a family. Steve and Linda moved to Mt. Juliet in 1985 where they joined the St. Stephen Catholic Community.

Linda was known as a caring, generous, and thoughtful woman who was loved immensely by her family and friends. She was a loving mother who supported her children whole-heartedly by encouraging them, attending all extracurricular activities, and most importantly, setting a great example of how others are to be treated.

Known as a surrogate mother to her children’s friends, Linda treated them as her own every time they entered her home. Her fun loving and thoughtful attitude helped her develop lifelong friendships. Among her friends, she was known as loyal, warmhearted, and always ready to share a meal and a martini.

Linda loved to travel and some of her best memories were spent with Steve, traveling to Europe, South America, and Asia. When celebrating a birthday or other special occasion, she was known to say, “I just want everyone to be together.”

In her final days, Linda’s entire family was together with her, surrounding her with the love she always shared with them. Special occasions were something that Linda held close to her heart. So much so that she took her final breath on October 6th, her 44th wedding anniversary.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Marjorie McClung.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Steve Carroll; her children Andrew (Nicole), Jonathan (Caitlin), and Elizabeth (Tony); grandchildren Elijah and Jonah; siblings Larry (Linda) McClung and Sally (Tom) Muth; and several niece and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 10th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Brief additional visitation will be held on Saturday, November 11th at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. All events will take place at St. Stephen Catholic Community.
