Leroy Sylvis, 57 years old, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away Friday, August 25, 2023, in the comfort of his home.
Leroy was born to the late Raymond and Edna Sylvis on December 29, 1965, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Leroy married Mary Carver in a little church on February 18, 1994, in Nashville, Tennessee. He did a variety of things throughout his life but mainly worked as an electrician at R. L. Electric for many years, then worked mostly maintenance at Centurion Stone for the last seven years. He was always finding a way to fix something, especially if it was for someone else.
Leroy was the kind of person that never met a stranger. He treated everyone with respect and always filled everyone with laughter and joy. Even though we would always say, “We can’t take him anywhere,” Leroy was always such a positive presence in everyone’s life.
He enjoyed playing with his remote-controlled cars and flying his drones. He always had to keep his hands busy. That’s why he enjoyed fixing anything, especially electronics or working on his car and truck. You could always find him going to Goodwill to hunt for hidden treasures. Everyone who knew Leroy will truly miss him and miss hearing his contagious laugh.
Leroy is survived by his spouse, Mary Sylvis; children, Timothy, Brandon, and Susan; siblings, Nan, Patsy, and Raymond; grandchildren, Davon, Aaron, and Novah; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Other than his parents, Leroy is preceded in death by his brothers, Michael and James; along with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends throughout the years.
