Lauren Michelle Thompson, age 66 of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023.

Preceded in death by sister, Sherry Noshey.

Survived by husband, J. Richard Thompson; daughters, Jennifer Michelle (D. C.) Roberts and Jill Marie (Logan) Hartline; son, Joel (Sarah) Thompson; grandchildren, Verity, Mary, Seraphine and Amity Thompson, Calle and Reed Roberts, Amelia, Bettye, Chip and Deacon Hartline; sister, Diane (Doug) Dunbar; and brother, Len (Karen) Wiseman.

Lauren was the proud mother of three wonderful children and even prouder “Gram” to 10 beautiful grandchildren. She was often found wearing her favorite shirt that said, “Proud to be a Gram!”

She loved animals of all types, but especially birds and dogs and even raised quail when she was younger. In her younger years she also loved to sketch and paint birds and was a very talented artist. Lauren was naturally caring and compassionate and had a second career as an ICU nurse at Duke University Medical Center. She used to say every time she heard the helicopter coming, she knew it was her patient.

After she moved to Nashville, she worked in gastroenterology and radiology at Vanderbilt. She was always helping, always looking for ways to serve, and was never idle. Lauren was a deeply spiritual woman and loved worshipping with her church family, listening to contemporary Christian music, and took great joy in scripture. She was truly a Proverbs 31 woman and a faithful wife and mother. She was never without a witty comeback and was quick to smile or share a laugh. She will be remembered and loved by all who knew her.
