Laura-Burnett-Odle

Laura Burnett Odle, a devoted mother, grandmother, and lifelong caregiver, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born and raised in Nashville, where she entered the world as the cherished daughter of Frank B. Burnett and Laura Hayes.

Laura lived a long, full life centered on love, family, and service to others. A naturally caring soul, she dedicated her life to caregiving, nurturing everyone from young children to the elderly—with compassion and strength. Laura worked tirelessly in this calling until the age of 80, a testament to her deep commitment to helping others.

As the proud mother of five children, Laura was the heart and soul of her family. She raised her children with unwavering love and support, often putting their needs before her own. Her home was a place of laughter, simplicity, and warmth. She was the matriarch, the one who everyone turned to, and the one who never met a stranger. Her kind and welcoming nature left a lasting impression on all who met her.

Laura enjoyed spending time outdoors and especially loved playing horseshoes, corn hole, and badminton with her family. More than anything, she cherished being surrounded by her loved ones, creating memories that spanned five generations. She lived a healthy, independent life filled with joy, purpose, and devotion to family.

She is survived by her loving children: Kathleen (William) Anderson, Peggy Ast, and Thomas (Tina) Hinkle; grandchildren: Stacey (Karen) Anderson, Michael Anderson, Phillip (Melody) Storey, Michelle (Steven) Smith, Kevin (Amy) Storey, Jessie Cook, Megan (Wesley) Argo, Buddy Hinkle, and Katlin Hinkle; 13 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Laura is preceded in death by her beloved children Freddie Hinkle Jr. and Jackie Barras; her grandson Jeremy Cook; her parents; and all seven of her siblings.
