Kimberly Joan Valdez, known to those who loved her most as Mom, Mommy Kim, and Sissy, was born in Fayetteville, Tennessee on February 3, 1967. She passed away at the age of 57 on July 9, 2024, surrounded by her father, daughters, son-in-law, best friend, and sisters.
Kim moved to Nashville in 1971. She graduated from Glencliff High School in 1985 and was later successfully self-employed for over 15 years. She was married to Mike for a brief time, but the two remained close friends until his death. Kim worked hard as a single mother to care for her two daughters. The three shared a unique bond, enveloped in loudness and laughter.
Kim loved to be silly, an attribute she proudly inherited from her father. She loved soap operas, reality TV, traveling, dancing, country music, sunbathing, jewelry, and shopping. Kim’s partner in crime and best friend, Cliff, brought her a lifetime of happiness and an abundance of memories. But Kim’s greatest joy was her grandchildren- they were the beginning and end to her every conversation. They were what she was proudest of, her whole heart.
Kim is survived by her daughters, Whitney and Kolby (Jorge); grandchildren, Tristan, Bella, Brownlie, Tonks, and Jodye; parents, Kenneth and Nancy; sisters, Trina (Kevin) and Tonya; and her very best friend, Cliff.
Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 p.m., on July 17, 2024, at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road. Following the service, the family will proceed to Kim’s final resting place in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. https://www.woodbinefuneralhome.com
