It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing, and come together to celebrate the life of Ms. Karen Carlock. Born on January 18th, 1953, her strong-willed nature and zest for life was very prominent in her 72 years of life. She is preceded in death by her parents, E. Hutchison Carlock and Norma Gleaves Carlock; and her son, James “Little Hutch” Crowley.

Karen was an advocate for so many things, she yearned for a clean environment and had quite the green thumb herself. She held such a soft spot for animals, she encouraged the work of Walden’s Puddle, a wildlife rehabilitation center in Joelton, TN.

She spent her working years in the clerical department for Music City Records Distributors, but took joy in many hobbies after retirement. Karen was an avid reader, a sudoku queen, proclaimed rummy champion, chocolate connoisseur, and the best weed-eater you’ve ever seen (so much so, that she even offered to train some of the local landscapers’ employees)!

Those left to cherish her memory are loving partner, Grover Lavender; two brothers, Hayes Carlock and Bruce Carlock; one sister, Jeana Carlock (Chuck Owen); bonus daughter, Jessica Crowley O’Neill; special niece, Caitlin Hicks; and four-legged companion, Catsy Cline.
