Joyce Ann Waller, age 79, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023.
She was the most loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend.
Joyce was born on April 17, 1944 in Nashville, Tennessee.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years Jesse (Pete) Waller; father H.A. Richardson; mother Thelma Florence (Lacy) Richardson; grandson Dillon Faris; brother Dennis Reese; and Leonard and Clara Reese.
Joyce is survived by her two daughters, Julie (Chris) Faris, Jamie (Kim) Waller; grandson Luke Faris; siblings Joe (Joyce) Reese, Joyce (James) Raymer; and several nieces and nephews.
Joyce graduated high school from the Cathedral in downtown Nashville in 1962. She went on to receive her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in teaching from Middle Tennessee State University in 1968 and 1976. She retired after 34 years of teaching from Metro Nashville Schools.
Joyce loved going bowling, reading about Tennessee history, going to Vandy football and basketball games, taking photos, and spending time with her family and friends. Joyce always had a smile on her face and a warm welcome. She will be missed by many.
A gathering of family & friends for Joyce was held Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204. A gathering of family & friends will occur Friday, July 28, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, following a celebration of life will occur at 11:00 AM, 660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204.
