Jordan Vance "Jordy" Beasley III Obit

Jordan “Jordy” Vance Beasley III, retired Metro Nashville District Chief and chief master sergeant loadmaster in the Air National Guard, passed away after a brief bout with cancer at the age of 83 years old in his home in LaGuardo, TN. He is survived by his sister Becky (Rusty) Staggs and 3 sons Jordan IV (Marcia), George, and Michael. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty, parents Madeline and Jordan Jr, and brother Johnny.

Jordy was born on Feb 8, 1942 in Nashville. He attended East High School (class of 1960) where he met the love of his life Betty. Jordy joined the Nashville fire department where he retired as district chief. Additionally, Jordy was a veteran of TN Air National Guard, which led him to visit close to 50 countries over the course of his life.

Outside of work, he was constantly active with one hobby or another. He was known as an avid snow skier (spent his 82nd birthday on the slopes!), a piano player, a wind surfer, scuba diver, heirloom tomato aficionado and farmer, among many other things. After retirement he kept busy on the board of the Wilson County 911 commission, pontooning on the lake with Betty and their dog Bauzer, travelling, and hanging out with his many friends and neighbors that were so near and dear to him. Family and friends will miss his wild sense of humor, kind disposition, and endless sense of adventure.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, and his ashes will be interred along with Betty’s in the old LaGuardo Cemetery.
