We regretfully announce the passing of Jon Tyler Slinker, 45, of Nashville. Jon passed away on January 21, 2023,

Jon Tyler was born to Steve and Boneva Tucker Slinker on January 18, 1978 in Glasgow, Kentucky.

Jon graduated from Green County High School and immediately went on to study Computer Aided Drafting at ITT Technical Institute followed by Western Governors University studying Business Management and Information Technology.

Jon and his wife Wendy loved boating, jet skiing, and trips to the beach and mountains. Jon was an avid reader of God’s word and was a well-respected man of God in the ministry. He served many years as a deacon at his local church, and you could find Jon performing marriage ceremonies for his loved ones. Jon was well known for being one of the biggest fans of the Kentucky Wildcats, Tennessee Titans, and Atlanta Braves.

Jon served on the Tennessee Department of Transportation Long Range Planning Division with the State of Tennessee for fifteen years.

Jon Tyler Slinker is survived by his wonderful and loving wife, Wendy Lynn Slinker; Siblings, Robin Bare (Travis), Angela Frank (Jim), Mike Slinker (Susan), Kimberly Smith (Fiancé, Fernando Carreon), and Brother-in-Law, Wade Hall (Kathy); Nieces and Nephews, Mara Bare (Mark), Joshua Bare (Kaitlynn), Molly Stinnett (Cody), Grace Frank, Lacy Wilkerson (Anthony), Nellie Slinker, Abby Eastham (Sean), Ella Smith.; Great-Nieces and Nephews, Coriander Colwell, Jon Camden Colwell, and Kingston bare.

Jon is Preceded in death by his Grandparents, MaMa and Papa Slinker, and Papaw and MaMa Tucker and a host of Uncles, Aunts, and two cousins, Terry Wayne Tucker and Jon Marc Padilla.

Services have been arranged through Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Valley View Baptist Church, 2442 Eastland Avenue, Nashville, Tn 37206, Saturday, January 28th from 9 am until his Celebration of Life at 12 pm. Pallbearers are Wade Hall, Josh Bare, Brandon Frank, Mark Colwell, Cody Stinnett, Sean Eastham, Anthony Wilkerson, and Wyatt Montgomery. Chris Lynch will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.
